Introduction

Hello, my name is David Kalsbeek and welcome to my career so far. I've been interested in computers for as long as I can remember, my first computer was a Commodore Vic 20 with a cassette tape drive! I'm currently a programmer with a web development company located in Madison, Wisconsin. Over the past 15 years I've developed in the IT world from writing batch files and installing packet drivers to writing complex, web-based applications.

Currently, I'm happily employed by MarketingPilot, continuing development on their flagship product "MarketingPilot".

My last project with Beacon Technologies was working on the online video community DiDGU.com. I worked on the Ruby on Rails portions of the site, which was extremely fascinating.

I've collaborated with Patrick Dwyer creating web sites for over 75 customers. That contribution could be as little as integrating one of our products, or writing a custom application to meet the customer's needs.

My Goals

I'm looking for a position that will allow me to continue to develop my skill sets. As my career unfolds, I'm met with challenges that I have a basic understanding of due to my experience and education, but I must learn and grow to complete the challenge. As a developer, I still lean on my experience as a network administrator.

Now What?

Please take a few moments to browse through my portfolio. I picked a few projects that I have spent the most time on recently. There is quite a range of examples from an application that generates Microsoft Word documents based on previous activity to an online vehicle inventory.

About Me

My wife, Julie, and I live in Cross Plains, WI and have four active boys. We both volunteer in the boys' activities where we can. I'm currently coaching two soccer teams and helping with the SFX football program.
